 How do I enrol in tennis lessons?

Do you operate on school holidays?

Our programs for children are based around the Victorian school term.  You can access our schedules here for Vermont South and here for Fountain Gate.

We also run School Holiday programs

Can I book my child in mid term?

Yes, we accept bookings during the term, and a pro rata coaching account is issued.

Does my child require their own racquet?

If you don’t have a racquet you may borrow one for your complimentary trial. Should you wish to continue, our coaches will recommend a suitable racquet (which we can arrange if you like). We are sponsored by Head, a leading manufacturer.

How can I make payment?

Our preferred method of payment is bank transfer, but we do accept cash also. (Cash payments: Please place in an envelope labelled your name and day/time of lessons)

What do I need to bring to tennis lessons?

It’s recommended you wear comfortable clothing, a hat and bring along a drink bottle.

Where do you run your tennis lessons from?

We have two locations East of Melbourne, at Vermont South Tennis Club and the Fountain Gate Tennis Club.

We run all programs, including private tennis coaching, from both of these locations.

Do you offer opportunities for students to play tennis matches?

Yes! We are Tennis run scheduled match play on Fridays.

We have specific times for each skill level.

An experienced We Are Tennis coach supervises the matches giving instructions, advising on tactics and tennis rules.  All done in a very positive and supportive environment.

Scores are tallied up and at end of term winner from each group moves up a level to the next competitive level.

What are your tennis coach to student ratios?

30 minute Kinder/Red Ball classes - our coaching ratio is four children to one coach.

45/60 minute Orange, Green and Yellow ball classes - our ratio is six children to one coach.

Can my child progress with We Are Tennis coaching?

Absolutely! We Are Tennis is unique in that we provide players with a pathway beginning within our Hot Shots program (which offers smaller courts, lighter racquets and balls that don’t bounce too high and move slower, to make learning tennis fun and easy for kids) with an avenue for them to develop and train within our Pro Tour Program, which caters for aspiring professional players. Do you run private tennis lessons?

Yes! These lessons are conducted by appointment only, our professional tennis coaching staff deliver one on one professional coaching which covers all aspects of the game including Technical, Tactical, Physical, Mental and overall player Management.

Why should kids play tennis?

We have a “learning through play” philosophy which is great fun, with players developing tactical skills in tennis situations, improving their tennis and social skills.

Our Hot Shots Pathway incorporates four progressive tennis program stages, assisting to develop children’s skills and confidence at their own pace.  Also see our blog on why tennis is great for kids.

Are your tennis coaches qualified?

Yes. Our extensive professional coaching team includes staff with Tennis Australia Master Club Pro, Club Professional and Junior Development Coaches qualifications, through to our developing team members who coach and are mentored within Tennis Australia Trainee program.

Do you offer classes for adults?

Yes! We have group lessons for adults and also private coaching by appointment. No experience is necessary. You may also like to check out our Cardio Tennis for adults.

Do I need any experience to start learning how to play tennis?

It’s never too late to try tennis – our friendly tennis coaches offer adult group lessons. From beginner to advanced we can touch up not only your technique, but the technical and tactical strategies crucial to assist in getting the best out of your game.

Do you have any match play days?

We conduct an internal match play competition on Friday nights.

Where can I buy a racquet?

Speak to one of our friendly team to discuss your personal requirements, and demo a racquet of your choice. Proudly sponsored by Head, we offer clients competitively priced equipment, which we can arrange for you.
